Background: My journey towards health and healing began at around the age of 8, when my mother got tired of giving one kid one of her 'awesome' foot massages, and then had to give the other 3 kids the same treatment. I soon took up where she left off, as I was the only child with her "hitch hiker thumbs". I was intrigued by the human body and its reaction to touch. I quickly developed an ability to intuitively know where people held pain, and its, (most often), seemingly unrelated core. For some reason, I decided to experience other things life had to offer… this included 3 years service with 2nd Battalion Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry (honourably discharged), various labour intensive jobs (steel fabrication, heavy equipment operation, irrigation installation), traveling around Australia, Instructing Scuba Diving, working on Cruise Ships, and Highway Line Painting to name a few. All of this intensive labour, heavy stress and poor abilities to deal with my stress led to long term back pain, that finally prevented me from doing what I had experience in. I found myself barely able to move without pain, and depressed. It was within that 'darkness' that I decided to embrace my own gifts, and my 'road' led me to begin an intensive 13 month Wellness Counsellor course at Rhodes College. The results I received from approaching myself multi-dimensionally, (mental, physical, emotional and spiritual aspects), compelled me to take this approach and combine it with my own gifts and talents. Thus Syn·er·gy was born. Syn·er·gy's approaches include addressing pain and stagnation. Pain can be physical, mental or emotional, but the bottom line is "pain IS pain". This is addressed through bodywork combined with energy work, www.QuantumTouch.com. It is my experience that this powerful combination of modalities not only addresses tightness and knotting, but it also gets the stagnation of stress and emotions moving. Often, issues or problems (stress induced, real or imagined thoughts and experiences etc.), manifest themselves within our body when we don't have a healthy method of releasing them. This release can be as simple as recognizing the emotion and allowing yourself to release through tears, talking to a close friend or confidant, physical activity, meditation or conscious breath.
